The Brigadier: The story

THE BRIGADIER

The Brigadier is Singer, Songwriter and Producer Matt Williams who has been receiving critical acclaim for his intimate live shows and his timeless pop songs. Having established a dedicated online following (and recently in the MYSPACE top 100 unsigned artists chart), Creation & Poptones boss Alan McGee was suitably impressed enough to offer The Brigadier his debut solo gig at his Death Disco night in Notting Hill, London.

Increasing exposure led the Brigadier to enjoy healthy sales of his self-financed and self-released debut album 'View from the Bath' in 2007. A seasonal EP '6 Christmas Tales...' appeared at the end of that year.

Second album; 'The Rise and Fall of Responsibility' was released in the Spring of 2008 to much acclaim, followed by the EP 'Rhymes for Rainy days' the following Autumn.

In the late summer of 2009, he released his third full length album 'Time is a wound' to great reviews. He followed this up with a download only EP 'The Edge of Spring' at the beginning of 2010.

The Brigadier has had radio coverage (Including BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Devon and BBC Southern Counties) in the UK, USA and Europe, as well as magazine coverage. He has done a couple of BBC live sessions and interviews and has completed a number of soundtrack commisions. He is also featured on 'Take refuge in Pleasure' a Roxy Music tribute album released by Burning Sky Records in 2009.
